About Me:

I dabbled in several art mediums, including scrapbooking, china painting, and papermaking, before finding polymer clay.  I watched The Carol Duvall Show to get scrapbooking ideas, and watched a very nice woman demonstrate a beautiful polymer clay project.  I was so impressed that I went out and purchased her book.  When I read the introduction, I realized that the artist lived in Las Vegas, as did I!  With great trepidation, I went to the next polymer clay guild meeting in hopes of meeting her.

I am happy to say that I not only met my inspiration, Lisa Pavelka, but I am proud to call her my friend and mentor!

I am now focusing on developing projects for publication.  I like this area of polymer clay work because it allows me to develop my thoughts and ideas into original artwork that is one of a kind.  I really don't like making the same thing twice!

In the future, I would like to expand my base to conducting workshops focused on my style of work.  In my "business" life, I have experience in developing and teaching technical classes.  I have conducted small workshops for the Las Vegas Polymer Clay Guild, and have assisted with several polymer clay workshops.  I look forward to this hopeful future expansion of my repertoire!

Heard enough about me?  Here's a few personal pictures for you to get a snapshot of my life.

Ahhh... my wedding.  Don't laugh at the colors!  This was 1992 and I thought dark blue and silver was the in thing!

This was me with my in-laws in 2000.  I had long hair back then!  I was pregnant with my daughter when this picture was taken.

This is my grandmother (the great china painter) and I.  She was a remarkable woman and a great source of inspiration to me. Sadly, she passed away on August 11, 2008. I continue to miss her every day. My art is dedicated to her, as she introducted me to the wonders of creativity.

This is the last formal family portrait my family had done.  Ok, ok, ok, I know it was two years ago and my son now has fully grown permanent teeth in front...

Michelle trying to hold the camera straight since she can't find anyone to take her picture!  Ack, the serious look.  It's like Robin Williams... when I don't smile, I look weird.

A look at the first version of my craft room.  It is now filled with shelving bins that are on rollers.  The sewing machine is gone, and a pile of polymer clay projects sits in its place!  For fear of scaring the internet community, no photos of the "new" craft room will be appearing anytime soon!
